Dang it!

OH NO!!!

So... I dropped this a while back... the poor this is still not fixed! I broke it a week after I got my second flash and transmitters (boooo), so now I'm back to one flash... makes me sad. Today I will finally call Nikon as opposed to going through Wichita's local camera store.

we shall see... the Xenon tube busted I just need to buy a new one for 10 bucks and solder it back in.

On the up side (not sure if this will happen or not yet), I think Kim and I might be going to Maine.

and thus it has begun-ed

Today was a rather enriching day (especially for being my first day of classes). Today I only had two classes, on Thursday I will have three, consisting of photography and commercial art (and then a computer education course AKA microsoft word for five year olds - I'm going to kill myself in there). Both of the art classes are taught by the same teacher that I can't stand! This time around I do believe things will be different. The photography department has gone completely digital and upgraded to a room stocked with the G5 iMacs and Adobe Creative Suite 3. In photography class this morning my professor vowed to be less likable and more of a instructor/ass (which is funny because I like him as a person, but despise him as a professor). On top of this, as oppose to the normal 4-6 assignments we do per semester, the class will now be required to turn in around 10 completed photos every week (shit yeah!) along with the 4-6 main assignments.
When I got to my communication art class I was in fear of doing things in Photoshop that I had learned in high school... BUT, we will be strictly working in flash and dreamweaver!!!! So I won't be doing ALL the lame simple things other art students have been complaining about since the class had first been offered. I'm going to have to do a lot of reading up on the subject since I don't know shit about flash. This class is gonna be awesome... although I am knocking on wood at the moment so as not to jinx myself... :/
In other news... I think the macbook air come out today... what a waist of money! Mac is becoming what North Face has become to the wealthy.....

That is all I have to say about that.

Sooooooo tired!

Welp I will have been up a lil over 23 hours by the time I finish this thing. I was up all night and into the morning working on my final assignments that are due in my art classes. My grandmother passed away this Saturday morning... so I did nothing from Saturday on into Monday night... I thought I had a test in Economics on Monday so I contacted my professor but he never replied... I show up in class today only to find out that the test IS today... (if only he had written me back :/) so now I will be taking the make up test... from what he said it will be significanlty harder than the test that everyone else is taking today... lame. ok... my eyes are closing and it is time to get ready for my critique... I hope that it is short so I can take a nap... I"m not sure as to how I will get home, I don't think I can drive in this state. A nap in the car sure sounds nice!

English Usage Exam... its late, does this make sense?

OK, so...
I am uncertain if this is just a requirement put on by my MWSU, or all universities, but when an undergraduate is in between sixty and ninety credit hours he/she is required to take the English Usage Exam. A little over a month ago I took part in fulfilling said requirement.
Having not written a paper in well over a year I was quite fearful as to where I stood in terms of spelling, grammar, and all other things relating to the English language (should I really capitalize that?). Needless to say when I arrived and took a seat with the countless number of other students my palms did begin to sweat... just a little. I sat next to two friends, and fellow art majors(Linds & Joel), and just before I could ridicule Lindsay for using a regular #2 pencil instead of the far superior mechanical pencil that I found after rummaging through the trunk of my Volvo (is this a run on?) a professor proceeded to give instruction as to how we were to partake illustrious event. Immediately after her very brief an oh-so-informative speech she asked the question of all questions... "how many of you know what a thesis sentence is?" At first I was quite puzzled but raised my hand obediently (even though I'm sure the question was rhetorical in nature), and then gazed about the room at the sparse number of hands that were raised with mine in timid unison. At this point I began to relax as she went from this topic to how one should structure an essay... [scene fades: opens to me frantically proofreading the last paragraph of my paper; quick shot of the clock as it reaches 7:34 p.m.]
Did I forget to mention I had every intention of meeting Kim for a 7:30 p.m. MWSU theater performance/production/rendition of Sam Shepard's "Buried Child" !!!! OH SHIT I'M LATE! After reading through my paper just once I head to the front of the room to check for spelling errors then I'm off to the back of the class room to exit. I'm in such a hurry that I disregard the "do not use as an exit" sign and my B-line to freedom is abruptly halted by the deafening "sckreeeeeeeeeeeeeAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaachhhhh!" of a ginormous lounge chair. Quickly I consider my options as I feel everyones' eyes are on my back, I reach for the door yet again only to be immediately detoured from my path by an "eh-hem" from the instructor. I smirk at her awkwardly and trudge my way to the other side of the testing room where I exit the proper way and accept defeat... woe is me.
Now that I have made it out the only thing left for me to do is drop the paper off at the table outside the exit and sign out! "Did you forget to put a title on your paper?" are the first words out of the girl's mouth as I handed her my loose pages.
"Oh crap, can I write it on there right quick?" I new full well that this was impossible since we were told once we leave nothing could be done to the paper, but I figured since she asked... maybe she would let me.
  "Well of course NOT."
Well shit, thanks for pointing it out then! She could have saved me an entire month of stressing by just keeping her mouth shut, but nooooooo. She just had to point out the fact that I'd totally screwed up, and now there wasn't a damn'd thing I could do about it... what a bitch. "Oh, well... ok then. Bye."

Well...... I completely missed the entire first act of the play... meh. Kim said it was hella boring.

[one month later]

w00t! I freak'n passed! (for anyone who cares)

...and I'm sure there are plenty of grammatical errors in this journal and other entries that would actually keep me from passing the English Usage Exam... but I'll never know :D... unless someone decides to tell me... on my way out... :(

?

So to take a short break from my loverly economics book I decided to edit some photos... then I started to take photos... and then I began to edit those. My short break turned from a half hour escapade (I do realize, to most, that the editing/taking of photos is not really all that enthralling) to, well, I won't go into just how much time I wasted. Is it just my A.D.D. or just the simple truth that taking/editing photos is sooo much more entertaining than economics. I'll take that back, just about everything is more interesting than economics. (when reading the book I do take some interest, but the class is a complete waste of time)

I think I need to update my browser :/

oh I did!

I Can't Even Sleep Straight

I must say, I just had the most incredible weekend ever! I got to sleep in late 'till 9 in the morning, rushed off to be at work by 10! Saturday was free picture day, (thank the gods I volunteered myself, and camera, to take the photos) so every mom in a 5 mile radius brought there lil kid dressed up for Halloween to get his, her, it's photo taken. In actuality I can't really complain, taking photos was the easy part of that day, I had fun making facing at all of the kids, attempting to get them to laugh or smile, on the occasion that I remembered to do so I'd hand a a bit of candy or so. At 2pm when photos were through I went to check on my coworker Samantha, (she had been dealing with the ordering and printing half -3/4's really- of the job) and boy was she swamped! So I spent the rest of the day helping out in the photo lab and doing random shit around walgreens. As soon as my 9hr. shift was up I went home for an hour to eat and then was off to work on my metals project 'till bout 12:30am (a might bit early to call it quits).
This morning I had been comissioned (so to speak) to take Kristen's senior portraits. Kristen and I were out only a little over an hour before calling it quits and having lunch with Kim and the fam... whoosh! I'm off to work yet again! Tonight I ended up staying an hour late, we were so busy today I didn't get any of my regular duties done (face isles, sweep the store, trash, blah), so I ended up stay until 12am. Now I'm home... I a semi critique in photo, and a real critique in metals... solution I'm NOT going to photography tomorrow! But I will have my shit done for metal, boy that is for sure!

G'night all,
...just
...so
...tired
...
